Evidence-based therapy for adults, anywhere in Australia.Medicare rebates available with GP referral

People seek therapy for many different reasons — sometimes because a condition, challenge or experience is affecting their life. Sometimes simply because they hope to feel better.

GP referral only required for Medicare bookings

Areas of support

Symptoms don’t always stay neatly inside their diagnostic boxes.

They might emerge from a clinical condition, a response to circumstance, neither of these, or somewhere in-between.
Their ripple effects often spill into sleep, work, relationships, and other areas in ways that don’t fit any label. And sometimes a client arrives having done their research and drawn their own conclusions, which may or may not reflect what’s clinically going on. All of that is fine.

The starting point is always the same: what’s affecting you today, and what would you like to be different?

Some of the concerns we commonly work with are shown below. You may recognise one area clearly, or find your experience overlaps several. You don’t need to fit neatly into a single category to begin.

Persistent worry, racing thoughts, or difficulty switching off. Feeling on edge, overthinking decisions, or anticipating problems even when things seem under control. We focus on the psychological symptoms of exhaustion, irritability, and reduced resilience.

Feeling flat, unmotivated, or disconnected from connections and interests that once mattered. Therapy at Salvere Psychology involves a structured exploration of the psychological and environmental factors contributing to these experiences.

A direct, confidential space for men to be heard, address emotional strain, relationship changes, and the societal pressures often associated with managing challenges in isolation including when not alone.

Difficulty concentrating cycling with hyperfocus, managing time, organising tasks, or following through on plans. Daily responsibilities can feel chaotic or overwhelming. The focus is on identifying strategies to consistently implement routines, navigate the stress and overwhelm often associated with these difficulties.

Exploring the patterns behind difficulty getting to sleep, staying asleep, or waking too early unable to return to sleep, and how these disruptions often affect concentration, mood, and functioning during the day.

Addressing the psychological impact of workload, environment, career changes, or feeling “stuck.” This includes support for those in high-pressure roles, those out of the workforce due to illness, or those navigating re-entry.

For those navigating uncertainty regarding self-worth, personal direction, or identity. Questioning decisions, roles, or future goals. Therapy focuses on clarifying these elements to better understand one’s current path.

Significant losses or events that disrupt stability and identity, including bereavement, illness, sudden change, or unexpected life circumstance.

Meet your psychologist

Matt is warm, inquisitive, and genuinely attentive.

A registered psychologist, his sessions are flexible, responsive, and collaborative by design.

Matt recognises that psychological distress doesn’t look the same for everyone. The uncertainty of someone stepping back from work is very different to the isolation of a business owner, the weight a surgeon carries home, or the exhaustion of a new parent.

Matt’s approach is shaped by that reality.

Managing the pressure of always putting others first, boundary erosion, and the stigma that can make seeking help feel complicated

The unique vulnerabilities of self-employment, financial pressure, and working without a safety net

Hierarchical environments, chronic stress, and burnout

The mental load of caring for others, often at the expense of yourself & life stage goals

Major identity and lifestyle transitions at either end of working life

Those out of work due to illness, or preparing to return, scale back, or step away entirely

For those navigating uncertainty regarding self-worth, uncertainty about personal direction, identity, or self-confidence. Questioning decisions, roles, or future goals. Therapy focuses on clarifying these elements to better understand one’s current path.

If any of this resonates — even loosely — it's worth having a conversation. You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out.

How therapy works

The process

Getting started ~ Reaching out is the first step. You can book online at a time that suits you, or contact us directly if you have questions before booking.

Your first session ~ The initial appointment is an opportunity to talk about what’s currently affecting you and what you’d like to be different. We focus on understanding your history, your circumstances, and your goals — not on fitting you into a category. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We move at your pace.

Ongoing sessions ~ Sessions are collaborative. Together we explore patterns, build practical strategies, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy can be short-term and focused, or longer-term depending on what you need.

What to expect from us

Efficient, accessible telehealth

Practical and goal-directed ~ Therapy here doesn’t have to be an open-ended excavation of your past. While context matters, the focus is on what’s actually disrupting your life right now — building clarity and momentum around that.

Accessible and private ~ Sessions are conducted online or by phone — no travel, no waiting rooms. Appointments fit around your day, from wherever you are in Australia.

A non-judgmental space ~ Sessions offer a confidential environment where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard — away from the noise of daily life.

Fees, Rebates, & Cancellations

Standard consultation (50 minutes) ~ $220, processed at the time of your appointment. Our fees are well below the Nationally Recommended Standard of $318.

Medicare rebate ~ Available with a valid GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Rebate is approximately $98.75 per session (up to 10 sessions per calendar year), leaving an estimated out-of-pocket gap of $121.25 (i.e. $220 − $98.75).

Private health insurance ~ Many funds offer psychology rebates depending on your extras cover. Check directly with your insurer to confirm eligibility.

Cancellations and changes ~ Appointments can be changed or cancelled online at any time — no phone calls, no explanations needed. Cancellations with less than 2 business days’ notice may incur the full session fee, unless we are able to fill the slot.

About Salvere Psychology

Our philosophy

You’ll notice diagnostic terms used throughout this site — depression, anxiety, ADHD, and others. These are useful signposts. But in practice, a diagnosis (if you have one) is just background. What actually matters is what’s getting in the way right now.

At Salvere Psychology, we believe the best care comes from therapists who are fully present — not stretched thin.

We prioritise clinical integrity and human connection over volume. We intentionally limit caseloads so our psychologists have the time, energy, and focus required for deep, thoughtful work. This also creates space for teaching, volunteering, community response, ongoing professional development, and personal life — experiences that keep us grounded and enrich the perspective we bring to therapy.

Our practice is deliberately designed to support this way of working. By minimising administrative load and unnecessary complexity, we protect space for reflection and genuinely personalised care.

We don’t rush, and we don’t chase volume. We value the client experience and the meaningful outcomes that come from dedicated, considered care.

Yes. To ensure client safety and maintain high standards of care consistent with industry best practice, some presentations fall outside the scope of telehealth psychology. We also have an ethical duty to provide services only within our clinicians’ training and experience.

Telehealth is most appropriate for clients who are medically and psychiatrically stable and able to engage safely in remote sessions.

We assess each referral against three priorities: client safety, clinical suitability, and regulatory and ethical obligations. For these reasons, our services are not appropriate for people who are currently or frequently impacted by any of the following:

  • Active suicidal intent or significant risk of harm to self or others
  • Acute psychosis, mania, or significant loss of contact with reality
  • Severe eating disorders requiring ongoing medical monitoring
  • Substance use requiring supervised withdrawal or impacting someone’s capacity to engage in sessions
  • Medical or psychiatric instability, or cognitive impairment requiring multidisciplinary care
